The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a rule governing flight training activities. This rule state that people seeking a new certificate or rating will be asked to provide citizenship documentation. Any person who is not a US citizen by birth or naturalization must pass a background check. The background check is available on the TSA web site at www.flightschoolcandidates.gov - to complete process you will be required to provide fingerprints in an electronic format. You Must visit this school and let us know you are submitting your background information prior to beginning the background check process. If the TSA contacts us about you and we don’t know who you are, they will automatically deny your application. Once you have been issued your TSA ID number you may begin your training while the background check is in process - this may take up to 30 days. This rule does NOT apply to flight reviews, proficiency checks, or other flight training not for the purposes of new certificate or rating. Please call us if you need more information about this new requirement.
